Job Description :The Program Officer will serve as WRAIR�s principal advisor for HIV/AIDS care, treatment, and prevention activities in the TPDF. Incumbent will work with both the USG HIV and provide technical input regarding HIV/AIDS in the military. Will also provide expert technical guidance to PEPFAR ITTs, Office of Security Cooperation, DATT). S/He is expected to be a physician with a wide range of knowledge in clinical medicine pertaining to general and infectious disease medicine, (including treatment and care of HIV/AIDS patients, and complicating conditions such as tuberculosis and malaria), maternal health, and child survival. The position requires the incumbent to have the unique ability to combine his or her medical training with a thorough understanding of the epidemiology of the diseases and health seeking behavior, and help the portfolio program appropriately. S/He will work with Pharmaccess International, the PEPFAR implementing partner with TPDF, to ensure that WRAIR programming with the significant PEPFAR support helps to address the needs of the people of Tanzania, PEPFAR, and Mission goals for ensuring the scaling up of ART, PMTCT, PMTCT.
