PROGRAM MANAGER

Advance Family Planning (AFP) is a unique advocacy initiative to increase funding for family planning (FP), ensure FP funds are better spent, address policy barriers, and increases visibility of FP among the world's policy makers especially in developing countries.

RESPONSIBILITIES
AFP - Tanzania will provide catalytic investments in Tanzania to mobilize and strengthen FP/ RH advocacy campaigns with potential for wider replication in other developing countries. The position holder will work with partners to. Identify advocacy opportunities and mobilize campaigns to take advantage of these opportunities. The Project Manager will manage the CCP Tanzania activities.

SPECIFICALLY, THE PROJECT MANAGER WILL WORK TO:
• Develop annual work plans, timelines and budgets
• Ensure that work plans are implemented in a timely manner
• Facilitate the identification of key advocacy issues and "quick wins"
• Identify a secretariat that can evolve into a discrete advocacy entity and establish local sustainable FP / RH advocacy capacity
• Strengthen the institutional capacity of the family planning advocacy partners to independently design, conduct, monitor and evaluate multi-channel advocacy interventions
• Organize and facilitate AFP Country meetings and workshops and represent AFP at other meetings, conferences and workshops
• Assist with the preparation of periodic reports
• Be the key liaison Officer with CCP Head Office and other partners

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, public health or in a related field
• Postgraduate training or graduate degree in communication, family planning, advocacy and/or public relations an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years working experience in the field of family planning and health communication or advocacy

NATIONAL PROJECT MANAGER - FAO

GEFIFAO Transboundary Agro-ecosystem Management Program for the Kagera River Basin
Location: Bukoba - Tanzania

The FAO Land and Water Development Division is seeking to recruit a National Project Manager (NPM) who will head the Kagera TAMP National Project Unit (NPU) in Tanzania, with responsibility for leadership and management of the project in the country, in close consultation with stakeholders and partners at national level and in partner countries (Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda) that share the river basin. The NPM will provide required technical and administrative support to coordinate and implement project activities at national level and contribute to basin-wide project objectives and delivery of project outputs.
The appointment as FAO Consultant, National Project Manager, will be for an initial assignment of 11 months, renewable after a one month break.in service, subject to satisfactory performance. The maximum period of continuous employment is four years (i.e. 44 months over a period of 48 months).
The NPM will be based and work from the National project unit in Bukoba, NW Tanzania with regular travel in the country and, as required, in the Kagera river basin and or twider region.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
The goal of the project is to support the adoption of an integrated ecosystems approach for the management of land resources in the Kagera Basin which will generate local, national and global benefits including: restoration of degraded lands, carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation, agro-biodiversity conservation and sustainable use and improved agricultural production, and thereby food security and rural livelihoods.
The project has four components: (I) enhanced regional collaboration, information sharing and monitoring; (2) enabling policy, planning and legislative conditions; (3) increased stakeholder capacity and knowledge at all levels for promoting integrated agro-ecosystems management; and (4) adoption of improved land use systems and management practices by the range of land users generating improved livelihoods and environmental services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure timely and technically sound implementation (planning, execution, coordination) of all national level activities of the project
2. Supervise and provide technical guidance to national consultants, District Project Facilitators, contracted partners, and other actors
3. Prepare, monitor and update the annual national Work Plans and Budget of the project
4. Prepare draft terms of reference and identify consultants! institutions to undertake specific assignments
5. Maintain close collaboration and working relations with national and local authorities
6. Establish and maintain close partnerships and collaboration with local stakeholders
7. Organise and facilitate the conduct of workshops, training sessions, exchange visits and meetings

The Accounts Payable department in the Johannesburg Corporate Office is responsible for the daily capturing of the supplier invoices. The candidate will take E responsibility of follOWing up with the AP department on any reconciling and unprocessed items, and seek clarity on issues I identifjed.
• Perform the monthly reconciliation of the leave and bonus accruals.
The payroll department is responsible for processing these accruals, and the candidate will take responsibility of following up with the payroll department on any reconciling items and issues identified.

Accept the responsibility for weekly reconciliations of bank accounts, for all of the related bank accounts, excluding payroll bank accounts. Recording of bank charges, administration charges and foreign exchange gains and/ or losses realised on a transactional level. Journalising sweeping transactions loaded into each sub bank account. Joumalising the cash calls requested against each bank account. Joumalising revenue receipts derived from the sale of gold and byyproducts.
Maintaining of bank accounts on the general ledger, opening new accounts as applicable and closing bank accounts closed. Alignment with the actual active bank accounts is crucial.
Obtaining monthly petty cash reconciliations from sites for recording and filing purposes.
Recording of monthly foreign exchange losses derived from the translation of foreign currency bank accounts.
Weekly recording of gold and by- product revenue based on sales information, royalty expenses based on production and sale information and third party smelting and refining fees.
Recording of intercompany charges, giving and obtaining acceptance for charges tot from other group companies.
Monthly revenue and Dore/ Concentrate receivable confirmation with the Johannesburg Corporate Office.
Monthly Intercompany confirmation with other group companies and sites.
Reconciliation of intercompany suspense accounts, as well as reconciliation of all intercompany payable and receivable accounts. Calculation and recording of interest payable.
Take responsibility and managing the PwC half- year and year- end audit confirmation procedures surrounding Intercompany and bank confirmations.

The ROADS project, a three-year project funded by USAID, addresses HIV prevention along the transport corridors of East Africa.

INTRODUCTION
Advance Family Planning (AFP) is a unique advocacy initiative to increase funding for family planning (FP), ensure FP funds are better spent, address policy barriers, and increases visibility of FP among the world's policy makers especially in developing countries.

AFP - Tanzania will provide catalytic investments in Tanzania to mobilize and strengthen FP/ RH advocacy campaigns with potential for wider replication in other developing countries.
